The legends that surrounded her not only surrounded the animal kingdom, but African Humans too. For despite the rare sightings of her human form, they were still recorded down in human history, and she not only had the flawless looks of a young adult, but she had outlived the oldest of Africans.
Now, this was enough to turn heads in peoples’ world, along with the animal world. But the animals knew who she was, and knew a great deal more than the humans, because the information was passed down through generations, whether she wished it or not. They may not have recognised her by sight, but by scent she was easily picked from the others. Kalia reeked of age, but had stopped ageing since she had been five years old. There was definitely something different about her.
She belonged to no pride, had no cubs of her own, and no siblings or parents, since they had died out long ago. No distinguishing markings or scars set her apart from the other lionesses, and so there was no suspicion from the human species, and she was the standard 130kg in weight and height was no different. To them Kalia was just another lioness that was attacking the farms.
But the animals knew better. They knew for some god-forsaken reason that Kalia was immortal. And thanks to that curse, she had the time to perfect her changing, along with learning the English Language, and taking in knowledge about the humans' creations, such as guns and vehicles.
Due to her immortality though, she had no family, lived as a nomad, was barren, and never got closer to another than a fight. Thus the life of the eldest of all things.
