Lifespan of the humans is of course normal, but what about the animals? The animals, even the ones that can imitate a human form for camouflage, live as ones would now. A teenage animal is around one to two years old, and the oldest one can live for is fifteen, assuming they've lived a good, healthy life. Animals can recognise whatever the species is, and whatever form they are in, but humans cannot. The only thing they would happen to take in is possibly a glimmer of golden eyes and a wild hint. In human form, are lions supposed to be dark-skinned or light-skinned...or does it not matter? ... It all depends on how dark their fur is. And that goes for all animals. A normal lion would be tanned in skin tone when he or she is imitating a human. Do the animals that can change have to be able to? Or can they just stay normal? ... of course you can stay normal if you wish. It's entirely up to you. Can animals speak to one another telepathically in whatever form? ... Simple answer. Yes. Can the animals that change speak English? ... It's unlikely, but they can if you want them to. My character, having been around a long time, has mastered speaking English. But as above, it's up to you.
