The dark beast traveling along the dry grounds let out a single - happy - growl. Smiling could almost be seen in the startling yellow eyes, and the large cat ran the extra way. It's muscular body flopped, with hints of exhaustion, onto the ground. Finally it's black, spotted fur was shielded from the heavy sun, the outrageous tree supplying this relief was a blessing. Happily she twisted on her back, paws streching outwards. Those large yellow orbs closed momentarily, but it did not mean she was unaware of her surroundings.
As the black leopard opened her eyes once more, a delicious scent, and sight caught her. Immidiately she flipped from her kitten-like stance, a now playful, hunters look formed all about the entir panther's body. Dinner wandered ever so peacefully over this oasis. A reminder of being hungry hit the leopard, and her eyes narrowed. For now, she would rest, later she would pounce upon the innocents minding their own business. Unaware of the danger that lay so near to them.
Suddenly, black fur seemed to melt into dark skin, the cat-like, muscular body dramatically changed shape, fitting into one of a lithe, fairly tall woman. She was covered in what looked like Panther fur, it fell into a dress-like covering, though it was shaggy around the bottom, it actually looked like what people would call stylish in other countries. It had a V-neck, and despite being a dress, was very handy for getting around in.
Her big, but catlike yellow eyes blink heavily between long, dark eyelashes. Her abundant lips were pursed in amusement, as the weaker animals carried on as if nothing were wrong. Though in human form, she was less obvious. They new the dangers of humans, the animals did, but humans frightened them a lot less than the appearance of a large, black leopard. She sat in an Indian-style, legs crossed, her nails (which were very claw-like) drummed impatiently on her knee. The decision she had to make was whether it would be the right time to strike, and which animal to go after. Maybe two? It couldn't be too impossible.
Jahzara, meaning Blessed Princess...however she got that title, had lived for about 2 years now, though her body in human form grew quicker, she was now an 18 year old. Despite her young age compared to some of the other panthers prowling around, she was very capable. She had learned from an elderly panther when she was younger, she had left her mother at an early age, and was luckily picked up - and not killed - by a very able leopard. This one could, too, turn into a human, so she found he had more understanding than a regular panther would. She was lucky.
But he was dead now, he had passed away in the last few months. Killed by humans. It made her angry, they had caught him at a point where he was in his animal form, and shot him. It made her angry almost everyday after to be a human as well...but she had to get over it. And she did. That was how life went, it was give and take. Jahzara learned that you had to fight to live in the world, and she would not let her life be taken easily. She would fight. Right now, it looked as if the coast was clear. At least for today. But humans must know about this spot?
Oh well. She wasn't worrying over it.
No - she was perfectly content lying in the shade.
Maybe even happy.
